Since 1940s, Mr. Song Yen Ting’s father, Mr. Long-Zheng Ting, worked as a hat material agent travelling between Taiwan and Japan.  He sold straw and related products to Japanese hat manufactures.

Toward the end of 1960s, Mr. Song Yen Ting together with his brothers established Soon Shing Long Company which provided raw material, sewing hat bodies and semi-finished products.

In 1977, with management restructuring, Sun Yorkos (“the Company”) was established to focus on designing and researching sewn hat braids, horse hair and other innovative material to better serve designers and manufacturers around the world.   In addition to its material development focus, the Company started offering hat OEM/ODM services to companies who were looking quality hats and supplies.

In 1991, the Company established its first overseas service center, Sun Yorkos USA, in New Jersey, USA.  The sales office and warehouse were able to extend seamless services to North America market.

In 1995, the Company decided to establish its China production center in Zhejiang, China in order to provide and develop more materials in catering its client need.   The production center emphasizes on paper material related products.

In 2001, the Company set up a new production center in Philippines. The new production center mainly focuses on hemp and sinamay related products.

In 2002, Sun Yorkos USA started its first online store.   The store provides dress hats and materials to online consumers.  The online store has developed to be one of the largest online stores providing the most variety of dress hats in USA.
